IMPORTANT OFFICE UPDATES REGARDING COVID-19

Dear Sussex Eye Center Patients, Families, and Friends:

We would like to take a moment to thank you for your patience through the COVID-19 crisis. We know this has been very difficult on everyone, and many of you have postponed your eye care while doing your part to slow the spread of the coronavirus. You have worked with us to find creative ways to assist you in temporarily providing your eye care needs and we appreciate your efforts.

We are thrilled to again provide excellent comprehensive eye health and vision care examinations to you and your family. Please be aware you will notice many new changes in our office. We ask that you help us by adhering to our new changes, which have been designed to enhance your safety and that of our staff and Doctors alike.

Some of the new changes you will notice include:
  • More phone and online communication. You will now complete your health insurance, demographic, and health history information online prior to your visit.
  • You will be asked COVID-19 pre-screening questions prior to your visit and have your temperature checked with an infrared thermometer upon arrival.
  • You will be required to wear a mask over your nose and mouth while in the office. If fogging your glasses has been a problem for you with mask wear, check out these tips to limit or eliminate this problem.
  • Visitors will not be allowed with you during your visit. One parent may accompany a minor.
  • You will notice our staff and Doctors look quite different. Our faces will be covered by various masks as well as some apparel changes and disposable gloves at times. Do not be alarmed. These are merely precautions we are taking in order to keep everybody as safe as possible.
  • Visits to our optical to purchase your new glasses will be by appointment only unless completed at the time of your exam.

Thank you for your loyalty to our practice. Please be patient with us while we adapt to our new normal. Despite the myriad of new obstacles we face, our staff and Doctors are committed to providing you with the same wonderful service and care we have brought to Sussex County for the past 30 years.

With sincerest wishes for your health and well being,
The Eye Doctors and Staff of Sussex Eye Center
