Comprehensive Eye Examinations
A comprehensive eye exam is important for patients of all ages. Whether you are having symptoms or not, most visual conditions and eye diseases are detected during an annual comprehensive eye exam. At Sussex Eye Center, we perform comprehensive eye examinations at regular intervals as recommended by the American Optometric Association. Following these guidelines can significantly decrease your risk of losing vision from a number of sight-threatening diseases.
A comprehensive eye examination is necessary to determine your most accurate eyeglass prescription, to ensure your eyes are healthy enough to undergo contact lens fitting, and to verify your eyes are free of disease.

If it is determined during your eye examination that you may have ocular disease, specialized advanced diagnostic testing will be performed to aid your eye doctor in determining the extent of your disease and the need for treatment and follow-up care.
InfantSEE Exams
Your child's eyes are precious. At Sussex Eye Center, we aim to ensure your little one's eyes are developing appropriately and are free from disease. InfantSEE is a public health program in which an optometrist provides a no-cost comprehensive examination of your child's eyes between six and twelve months of age. These services are available to patients without insurance coverage. Dr. Sprague and Dr. Parker are providers for the InfantSEE program. During the exam, Dr. Sprague or Dr. Parker will evaluate your child's eyes for disease, ocular misalignments, and abnormal amounts of nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism.
